Founder and Visionary
Wellness A Living
That’s a big part of why I started Wellness A Living. I saw firsthand how taking simple steps early on can prevent bigger health problems down the road. I wanted to create a place where people can learn about health in a way that’s practical and easy to understand, just like the kind of community work I did. It’s all about giving people the right tools so they can take charge of their health before things get serious.
I’m Jonas Ronald Costa, and I’ve been working in the banking sector for the past 16 years. Throughout my career, I realized that banking in Bangladesh can be a demanding and stressful job. During the first 5 to 7 years, I started noticing negative impacts on my health. I gained around 10 kgs and developed various health issues, including pain in my knees and elbow, rapid weight gain, and, most challenging of all, mental health struggles. While I sought medical treatment, the improvement was slow and temporary—the problems kept returning once I stopped medication.
Determined to find a lasting solution, I began researching my condition online. Although there was a lot of advice available, I couldn’t find a single comprehensive guide. So, I gathered information from various sources and created my own wellness plan. I incorporated exercise, meditation, and healthier eating habits into my routine. Within a year, I lost 10 kgs and felt healthier than ever.
This journey inspired me to create a platform to help others improve their well-being. Through my website, I aim to share articles on wellness, drawing from reliable sources, consultations with professionals, and real-life experiences of people who have overcome similar challenges. I encourage you to share your experiences with us so that together, we can build a community dedicated to better living and well-being across the world.
I also have a strong background in community work. For two years, I volunteered with World Vision Bangladesh, where I worked as a Trainer of Trainers (ToT) in water and sanitation and served as a Community Awareness Volunteer. I was hands-on in helping underserved communities understand and adopt better water management and sanitation practices, aiming for sustainable changes in health and hygiene.
One of the key moments in my journey was completing an intensive 10-day ToT training with WaterAid Bangladesh. That’s where I really dove deep into understanding water sanitation systems, hygiene education, and community health. I gained valuable skills to empower local leaders, foster community involvement, and push for long-term clean water and sanitation solutions. That experience left me passionate about improving public health in vulnerable areas, teaching me the importance of collaboration and grassroots efforts.
The inspiration for Wellness A Living actually came from what I was seeing around me—among my peers, colleagues, friends, and family. People were dealing with serious health issues at a younger age, and some were even passing away too soon or becoming heavily dependent on medications. It got me thinking about how important it is to raise awareness about physical, mental, and social well-being.
With Wellness A Living, my focus is on educating people about the power of prevention over medication. I believe that early action and natural treatments can make a huge difference, and I want to provide credible, well-researched information that helps people make informed choices about their health. Whether it’s through blogs, websites, or real-life experiences, my goal is to give people the tools they need to take control of their health before it’s too late. Prevention is always better than medical treatments—that’s something I truly believe.
My diverse experiences from professional, family, and social life have inspired me to create something meaningful for the well-being of people around the world. If even one of our readers finds hope for a healthier life through Wellness A Living, we will consider it a success.
